The most architecturally extraordinary freshwater snail available in India — real conical horn projections, bold black-yellow shell pattern, outstanding algae cleaner, 100% plant safe, cannot breed in freshwater.
No other freshwater snail available in India looks like a Horned Nerite. The real conical spine projections from the shell surface are sharp, physical calcium protrusions — each individual has a different number, arrangement and size of horns. Combined with the bold black-and-yellow patterned base shell, the result is a snail that appears sculptural, architectural and unlike anything else in the aquarium hobby.
The spines serve actual natural function: predator deterrence. Fish that might eat smooth-shelled snails find the horned Nerite impossible to swallow — making these safer in mixed fish tanks. Their smaller size makes them the ideal Nerite species for nano tanks, shrimp tanks and intricate planted aquascapes where larger snails would look out of proportion.
